Frequently asked questions
What is the fastest way to get started?
Book the free phone consultation online. During that call Dr. Allen reviews your diagnosis, service history and current ratings, explains whether a nexus letter is likely to help, and quotes the timeline and cost before you commit to anything.
How much does the consultation cost?
The initial phone consultation is free. Fees for a records review and nexus letter are quoted on that call, based on the volume of records and the number of conditions involved.
How do I send my records?
After the consultation you receive a secure, HIPAA-compliant upload link. Please do not email medical records or send protected health information through the contact form.
Do you see veterans in person?
Nexus letter work is a records-based independent medical opinion and is handled remotely, so veterans in any state can be served. The practice office is located at 1768 Heritage Center Drive, Suite 203, Wake Forest, North Carolina 27587.

Calls and messages received Monday through Friday are answered within one business day.

If you are a veteran in crisis
This site and the nexus-letter service do not provide emergency mental health care. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. You can also call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for free, confidential support 24/7.
Important service limitation
A nexus letter is an independent medical opinion prepared for your VA claim; it does not create a doctor-patient relationship with Dr. Allen or Brightview Psychiatry Solutions. It is not a substitute for ongoing medical care, diagnosis, or treatment from your own physician or mental health provider.
